Paintings

What I have learned since practicing watercolor painting is that watercolors can teach many valuable life lessons. When painting with watercolors, I must practice patience. Most often, the medium requires time to dry before additional layers can be added encouraging me to slow down and take my time with each stroke, developing a deeper connection with the painting and the process.

In addition to patience, watercolor painting also teaches acceptance. The nature of the medium is that it can be unpredictable, and mistakes may happen. Instead of trying to control the paint or fix every mistake, I must learn to accept the beauty in imperfection and discover a new beauty in the unpredictable.

Watercolor painting is not only a relaxing and enjoyable activity, but it can also serve as a powerful tool for personal growth and development, teaching important lessons about patience, acceptance, and creativity. While I love working in the digital space as a graphic designer, watercoloring provides me respite from a screen and a way to be creative through a physical medium.
